A. J. Payler is the author of novels The Killing Song, World of Heroes: The Untold Secret Origin of the New Fighters, Lost In the Red, Terror Next Door, and Bank Error in Your Favor, along with nonfiction, essays, reviews, and many short stories.
Born to biracial heritage in the same Honolulu hospital as Barack Obama, he earned his bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Hawai’i and eked out a living variously as a radio broadcaster, military contractor, audio engineer, musician, comic store clerk, short order cook, press clipping agent, music journalist, and congressional archival assistant prior to turning his attention to writing full-time, managing to shake hands with everyone from Kurt Vonnegut to Lemmy from Motörhead.
