Author, legal secretary, journalist, educator, conference planner. Susan Eschbach has worn many professional hats, none as challenging—or as fun—as writing science fiction. Growing up in Kansas City, she dreamed of traveling to distant planets. That was never possible, so she travels vicariously through her characters. Her writing experiences began in elementary school in 4-H, and years later led to a position as assistant editor of a small newspaper. She embarked on her first novel in 2008 at the insistence of a close friend and members of her critique group, Mid-South Writers.
