About the Author – Nick Korolev

Author/artist Nick Korolev was born and raised in New Jersey in a boating family.  His first short story was published at the age of 14 in a national magazine “Popular Dogs”.  He has since written stage and screenplays some of which have won awards: The Great Mudbug War,  That’s the Spirit: A Haunting Comedy, Riders of the North Wind, and The Swamp Dragon. He has had science fiction and horror short stories published in various print venues. His traditionally published novels include historical fiction: Silver Eagles, a Civil War novel about Ames, Chamberlain and the 20th Maine (out of print); the Civil War fantasy novel, The Swamp Dragon (2011 Whiskey Creek Press); maritime historical novels Dark Waters (Salvo Press 2012), about the Lusitania disaster and Storm Warning (Fireship Press 2015), about the chase, capture, and trial of the only slaver ever hung for piracy. 
Just released by Mockingbird Lane Press is his political comedy Ghost of a Chance, a not so average ghost story about a young progressive senator getting help from the ghost of Theodore Roosevelt for his third-party run for President, which has already gleaned five-star reviews. 
His wildlife art has won awards and has been shown in several galleries including the Smithsonian.
Presently he lives in Fisher, WV and his “day jobs” include substitute teaching for two counties and in the summer, he is the naturalist for Lost River State Park. His goal is to turn writing and freelance illustration into a full-time career.
